Alexis

DWI Client's Friend

I have had the pleasure of being represented by Justin twice now. During these situations, Justin made it clear to me he knows the law and the system he fights against for your best outcome. His attention to detail, knowledge of law, and reputation precedes him. Not once did I feel like I was ill informed about what to expect, what my options are, or how matters were going to go step by step. I felt in complete control over my future because of his representation. Outside of his representation in court hes willing to educate me in Texas laws with smaller matters beyond my understanding.Thank you Justin for everything you’ve done and continue doing for me!

Five Things a DWI Lawyer Wants You to Know

ALR License Suspension

DWI arrests can trigger a legal matter known as an Administrative License Revocation (ALR). ALR hearings must be requested through the Texas DPS. We fight ALR drivers license suspensions and use officer testimony strategically in the criminal case.  Click here for more information.

Ignition Interlock Device

Ignition interlock devices require a driver to blow into a mouthpiece installed in their vehicle. If the device detects alcohol, the vehicle will not start. Texas law requires installation of interlock devices as a bond condition for all Class A misdemeanor and felony DWI charges.  Click here for more information.

Occupational Drivers License

If an ALR hearing results in a drivers license suspension, you may drive with an occupational drivers license (ODL). The ODL requires a special type of insurance called SR-22. We file the paperwork to obtain ODLs when our clients need them so that they may drive with peace of mind.  Click here for more info.

DWI Court Process

ALR deadlines and hearings come quickly after a DWI arrest. The criminal case, however, moves slowly due to backlogs at the DPS toxicology testing facilities located throughout the state and slow-moving DA offices. Be prepared that your case may take 12-18 months to resolve.  Click here for more information.

Expunction and Nondisclosure

Expunctions completely destroy all traces of an arrest, and you can legally deny the arrest happened. Nondisclosures hide an arrest record from all but law enforcement and state licensing agencies. Cases must be resolved in specific manners to make you eligible to expunge or nondisclose a DWI.  Click here for more information.
